Call to Order
 

Chair Don Jones called to order the Community Economic Development Committee (CEDC) meeting at 5:00pm on September 28, 2019, in the Public Hall at the Municipal Administration Centre.

Marie Wilson joined the meeting at 12:21 PM.
Anne Eadie joined the meeting at 12:21 PM.

Tourism Coordinator Update

  • Committee of staff reviewing special events application process to streamline the process. Will be sent to senior managers next week.
  • FEO – Applying for the municipality of the year.
  •  Tourism Summit – In Collingwood, Kelly attending
  • Accessibility – Promotional videos about Kincardine accessibility which will be a highlight for tourism and ec dev.
  • ACH
    • Pride – Arts component added to pride
    • Arts Lunch and Learn, October 4 at KDSS – With a focus on promoting opportunities for youth to get involved in arts, culture and heritage within the community, 
  • Winter Lighting and Banners will be completed this year.
  • Finished new wraps on garbage cans in Tiverton.

Economic Development Strategic Plan
 

Committees of Council Session will be held October 10 at 5pm.

Community Survey will be published on Kincardinetalks.ca and will be open until October 21, 2019.

Session findings will be presented to the CEDC committee on November 5 at 2pm in Public Hall

Presentations to Community Groups
 

Getting the communications and marketing working group together to plan out the presentations to community groups. Will be presenting to Kincardine Rotary in November along with others. Schedule will be circulated to the committee.

Financial Report
 

The committee has $2300.00 to use towards projects.
