​​​Chair Sylvia Leigh called to order the Heritage Kincardine meeting of  The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine at 5:00 p.m. on Monday September 23, 2019 at the Huron Bicycle Museum at 427 Wall Street.

    THAT the Heritage Kincardine Committee adopt the minutes of the meetings of July 22, 2019 and August 12, 2019 as presented.

    Carried.

Staff provided an update on the Job Creation Program Application. 

Staff provided an update on the Heritage Conservation District Study.  The first Public Information Centre will be a drop in session on Wednesday October 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kincardine Arts Centre and the second will be on Monday November 18, 2019 at Kincardine Library. The first meeting was advertised in the paper and online including social media.  At the meeting there will be a questionnaire for people to fill out and this questionnaire will also be available online on Kincardine Talks.

A Q&A sheet has been added to the website and copies are being printed for distribution. A copy of all materials will be sent to the committee for review. The Committee questioned whether additional information should be provided and will review the documents and make suggestions.

The GIS Summer Student has made a GIS Storybook for the walking tour similar  to the Kincardine Walking Tour and Bruce Township Driving Tour. The problem with some of the descriptions not showing in full was resolved by adding additional pages. The Committee will review the Tiverton Walking Tour GIS Storybook before the next meeting.

Staff has requested a quote from Cox Signs for the Salt Block Signage and Kasey is working on the Arts Centre signage.

Sylvia and Mary have been submitting the articles to the paper and will continue to do so highlighting different areas. Jenna will work on one for the Circle Bar Knitting Company. 

Committee will proceed with donating the Architectural Drawings from 880 Huron Terrace to the Bruce County Museum Archives.

Committee reviewed the action items from previous meetings. 

The Committee was supportive of the Lunch and Learn concept but as they don't have any opportunities for youth volunteers at this time they will not attend this event.

Committee reviewed the financial report. Staff will investigate a fall or spring workshop with the topic of historic windows.
