October 4th is the new proposed date for the Youth Expo.  The Committee is working with the Principal of the school to coordinate.  An email will be sent to stakeholders to determine interest and create a waiting list, pending the determination of how many spots will exist for participants.  The event will take place from 11:30-12:30, be available to grades 7-12 and will be advertised with a poster in school, on announcements and through social media. Discussion took place regarding the process to purchase the 50x $5 incentive giftcards for the survey.  The Committee reviewed and provided comments on the suggested survey.

The Committee reviewed progress on the Arts and Culture Asset Mapping and the possible uses of such information.  While assets have been identified, a detailed story for each item still needs to be completed.  The Committee to receive a spreadsheet listing all items currently identified.   The Committee requested an option to see all assets at once on the mapping, in addition to the current configuration.

While staff will continue to work on this project as time allows, the Committee identified that additional staff resources would be an asset to advance the project. Staff were directed to add Asset Mapping to the November agenda.

A tentative date of the third Tuesday in October has been set for the first ACH workshop.   The Committee discussed ideas relating to autumn themes, such as pumpkin carving and will be reaching out to the Pumpkinfest organizers for possible names.  Additionally, the Committee is considering a genealogy workshop for a winter date.

Dylan Trahan has submitted his resignation from the Committee.  Council will consider this resignation at the September 4, 2019 meeting of Council.  Staff provided the Committee with a description of the recruitment process.

The Committee discussed a collaboration opportunity with Kincardine Pride to incorporate an arts component into the Festival for 2020.  The Committee directed staff to work with the Pride Committee to investigate this opportunity.

Council will receive proposed changes to Policy GG.7.2 Recognition Arts, Culture and Heritage Achievements at the meeting of September 16, 2019.  The Committee discussed opportunities to highlight these awards.

The Committee received correspondence from the Ontario Trillium Foundation regarding upcoming workshops.  The Committee directed staff to circulate this information through the stakeholder listing, and additionally to contact the theatre groups specifically to discuss if synergies were possible.
