​​​​​​​​​Deputy Mayor Roppel called to order the Regular Meeting of the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre.​

Note that some Members of Council and Staff are attending electronically.

Councillor Couture opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgment Statement.

    THAT Council approve a request from the Kincardine Outdoor Volleyball Association (KOVA) for the construction of 4 beach volleyball courts at an estimated project cost of $63,000;

    AND FURTHER THAT the construction of the courts be financed upfront through the Contingency Reserve in 2022; 

    AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to enter into an agreement with the KOVA for the repayment of the upfront costs of $63,000, to be repaid through fundraising efforts and future league revenues over a maximum period of 8 years;

    AND FURTHER THAT the courts be located at Station Beach at the North side of the Rotary Snack Shack.

    THAT Council direct to Staff investigate as part of the 2023 budget deliberations enhancements to the existing Off-Leash Dog Park at 440 Bruce Avenue Kincardine that could include an area for small dogs and additional access points per Report Recreation and Community Programs 2022-02.

    THAT Council continue to support and enhance the Pickleball program operated in Ward 1 by continuing to offer pickleball on the tennis courts for the summer of 2022;

    AND FURTHER THAT the existing skatepark located at the Davidson Centre be considered for future multiple sports pursuits as per the 10 year Improvement Plan presented by the Kincardine Lions Club, including pickleball;

    AND FURTHER THAT Staff work with the Whitney Crawford Community Centre Committee to find an appropriate place to have a pickleball facility at the Annex or to provide a location at the Tiverton Sports Centre.
