The MIC has had remarkable success over the 3-year pilot and has proven to be a model every community across Canada could benefit from. The MIC has allowed for the collective tackling of problems that couldn’t otherwise be done independently and armed its member municipalities with 21st century data that will provide the foundation to ensure sustainable growth. This report recommends the continued participation in the Municipal Innovation Council by signing onto the Memorandum of Understanding and advancing the necessary budget request for 2023.a.Delegation - Becky Smith- Municipal Innovation Council - Impact Report 1.MIC Extension PowerPoint July 2022.pdfb.GG.3.13 Petitions Policy Update, Legislative Services-2022-19 1.GG.3.13 Petition Policy Update - Legislative Services-2022-19.pdf2.2022 06 21 GG.3.13 Petition Update.pdf3.GG.3.13 Petition Policy Form_Fillable.pdfPetitions are a way for residents to communicate their opinions to members of Council and bring attention to a matter of public interest or concern that is within the authority of Council. Council passed the existing GG.3.13 Petitions Policy on October 5, 2016 to outline the specific requirements to help ensure their authenticity and validity. Since that time there have been many advances in technology including digital signatures and the development of online tools such as change.org. There has also been a increase in demand for digital processes since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic.Staff are recommending that GG.3.13 Petitions Policy be updated to include a process for submitting petitions in an electronic format.c.Heritage Workshop, Legislative Services-2022-20 1.Heritage Workshop - Legislative Services-2022-20.pdf2.Heritage Kincardine Motion.pdf3.8e71-CityPlanning-Heritage-Home-Insurance-Information-Sheet.pdfCouncil is being asked to defer the public meeting requested as part of the Heritage Conservation District consideration, until after industry leaders have completed an assessment of the insurance issues related to Heritage Homes.7.2Other Areas of Responsibility a.Robert Watson - Bruce Telecom Company Update 1.Brucetelecom slides.pdf7.3County Council Update 8.Consent Agenda Items listed under the Consent Agenda are considered routine and are enacted in one motion as a Matter Arising.
