Call to Order

A Special Meeting of the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine will be called to Order at 9:00 am on December 18, 2023, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre.

The Special Meeting was called to discuss the 2024 Municipal Budget, Pre-Budget Approval for the Tiverton Splash Pad and a Closed Session item regarding negotiations with the Kincardine Family Health Team.

Tiverton Lions Splash Pad - Pre Budget Approval

• Motion #

  Whereas the Tiverton Lions Club has fundraised $300,000 for a new splash pad in Tiverton as presented at the November 22, 2023 Council meeting; and 

  Whereas the Tiverton Lions Club has requested that an RFP be issued as soon as possible in order to complete the project in 2024; and

  That Council provide pre budget approval of $300,000 for the Tiverton Splash Pad to come from funds raised by the Tiverton Lions Club in order to proceed with the issuance of an RFP.

Closed Session

  That Council move into closed session pursuant to Section 239 (2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended for the purpose of considering:

  A position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the Municipality or Local Board (negotiations with the Kincardine Family Health Organization); and

  Further, that Council return to Regular open meeting upon completion.

  That the By-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine of December 18, 2023 be deemed to be read a first, second and third time, finally passed and numbered as By-law No. 2023 -
